Use the dynamic rating and caching architecture of CFS and its granular tools to create and apply web use policies that allow or deny end users access to websites that contain objectionable web content. Extend the enforcement of those internal policies to laptops located outside the firewall perimeter and block unwanted internet content with the CFC. For a deeper level of web usage visibility, send data from the content filtering services to the Dell SonicWALL Analyzer traffic analytics and reporting package, and leverage its graphs, charts and data search functionalities. Because you can configure and manage the content filtering services directly on your firewall, you’ll strengthen your security and save money by eliminating the need for a costly, dedicated filtering server.

Protect students from inappropriate and harmful web-based content with Dell SonicWALL CFS, and ensure that your organization is eligible for eRate funding by using CFS to ensure compliance with the Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA). URLs, IP addresses and domain ratings are cached locally on the firewall to reduce response time to frequently visited sites to a fraction of a second. Enable your administrators to control bandwidth based upon CFS rating, as well as specific IP address, site or even application when CFS is combined with Dell SonicWALL application intelligence and control.

Enable administrators to create local or enterprise-wide policies that are specifically designed to meet their own internal requirements as well as legislative mandates. Use CFS’s dynamic rating architecture to block over 56 categories of objectionable or unproductive web content, providing a high level of transparent control, ease of administration and granular policy enforcement. Add flexibility by letting administrators go beyond categories to create custom block and allow lists for specific domains or hosts. Apply policies to individuals or defined groups (e.g. students and faculty) and set to block automatically downloadable files or apply filtering by time of day.

Because the caching feature stores URL ratings locally on the Dell SonicWALL firewall, you can reduce response times to a fraction of a second. Use the joint solution to easily create and deliver customized real-time and historical reports in a variety of formats, and also gain fast insights through “at-a-glance" reporting capabilities.
